Holiday villas on the Vendée coast

L'Annexe is a lovely private gite with a south-facing terrace.

L'Annexe is one part of the original, 200 year old farmhouse on our tranquil, eight acre complex in the Vendéen countryside.

It accommodates up to 8 people and is a perfect holiday setting.

The gite comprises 3 bedrooms, a well-equipped dining kitchen, separate lounge with sofa bed and private south-facing terrace.

It is 5 minutes by car (15 minutes by bike) from the beach or you can opt to relax beside the heated pool, walk/cycle on the many unspoilt lanes and coastal routes or explore the wonderful local places of interest

As part of the main farmhouse it features exposed beams, tiled and/or wood floors throughout and has been renovated and redecorated.

Entering via the glazed front door takes you directly into the large open plan, well equipped dining kitchen in which there is a dining table which seats six people.

At the centre of the gîte is the bathroom area with ‘power-shower’ and hand-basin. There is a separate toilet on the ground floor.

The two directly adjacent ground floor bedrooms both sleep two (in a back to back double/twin room plus a twin room with two single beds). The double has open and hanger based storage plus reading lamps and a fan; the twin has comparable open plan storage, reading lamps, a velux window and a fan.

The very attractive, living room at the back (south) of the gîte, with its french oak floor, accommodates a library, sofa-bed and the TV/DVD. Leading directly from it, steps take you down to the lovely private south-facing terrace which is edged by rose bushes and gets the sun all day and in the early evening.

The third bedroom (a large double) is immediately above the living room and is accessed via the exterior stone steps. A light, airy space, it enjoys a south-facing outlook over the garden and also features open and hanger based storage, bedside cabinets and lamps. It has a large en-suite bathroom with hand-basin, WC and generous shower.

(Linen, bedding and towels are all supplied on the basis of the number of guests; figures shown are maximums). The washing machine, located in the barn, is shared with the other gites.

Our gîtes are situated on a peaceful, secure, safe eight acre farm complex and there is plenty of open space to walk around and play on.

Residential, relaxing and recreational areas are car free and the ample guest parking space is located next to the barn.

Nearby

Although it is in the middle of the country side Le Village du Bois is easy to reach. It is equidistant (just 4-5km – 5 minutes in the car) from the town of Talmont St Hilaire (supermarkets, bars, restaurants, shops, chateau), the marina at Port Bourgenay, the Blue Flag sandy beach at Plage Veillon (which offers body boarding, surfing, kite-surfing, paddle boarding) and an excellent 18 hole championship golf course.

We are just one hour away from the World famous Puy du Fou and La Rochelle, famed for the La Pallice harbour and its beautifully preserved period architecture. Even closer and accessible by car or on bicycle (just a 12 km drive or off-road cycle along le Corniche) are the fabulous beaches, shops, zoo, quayside restaurants and bars of Les Sables d’Olonne; the start point for the famous Vendée Globe Round the World Yacht race.
